Minister of Commerce and Industry Emphasizes Importance of Evaluating General Directorate of Industry’s 2025 Activities
Dili, December 23, 2025
The General Directorate of Industry conducted an evaluation of its activity implementation for the year 2025. This evaluation serves as a benchmark to clearly assess the results and achievements of the programs, identify challenges encountered, and strengthen strategies to improve service quality and the contribution to Timor-Leste’s industrial sector development.
In his address, His Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Nino Pereira, urged directors, heads of departments, and all staff members to be public servants of integrity, professionalism, and commitment, consistently demonstrating strong performance, discipline, and high levels of responsibility in their work.
Through this collective effort, it is hoped that every employee can make a significant contribution to enhancing the strategic role of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, particularly in the process of sustainable development within the trade and industry sectors for the benefit of economic growth.
The Minister noted that activity evaluation is vital for understanding the implementation level of 2025 programs, as industrial development is a determining factor in the pillars of national economic development and diversification.
Furthermore, the Minister emphasized that such contributions must stem from the active participation of each individual, utilizing their expertise and professional skills to serve our beloved Nation, Timor-Leste. Through concrete and well-planned actions, the Ministry aims to ensure that as the country faces future processes—specifically maximum participation in ASEAN-related events—Timor-Leste can effectively demonstrate its presence, capacity, and commitment.
