The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, through the Directorate-General of Commerce, in collaboration with the Ermera Municipality Authority, held a seminar to disseminate Decree-Laws No. 89/2023 of December 20, on Sectoral Licensing for Commercial Activities, and No. 90/2023 of December 27, on the Industrial Base. The event took place in the meeting hall of the Ermera Municipality Administration.
During this seminar, information was provided to economic operators regarding commercial and industrial activities, to ensure they are aware of the licensing requirements for industrial activities and the provisions of the Industrial Base Law.
The Coordinator of GAJ, ๐๐ง. ๐๐๐ก๐จ๐๐ฃ๐ค ๐. ๐พ๐ค๐ง๐๐๐๐ค, gave a presentation focusing on the exploitation of potential products through industrial modernization in the country. He emphasized the importance of building a stronger, healthier, and more competitive industrial sector, highlighting that human resource development is essential to facilitate the implementation of these Decree-Laws.
Following this, Advisor ๐๐ง๐จ. ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐๐๐จ and ๐ฟ๐ง. ๐๐ง๐๐รณ๐ง๐๐ค ๐ฟ๐ ๐๐๐ก๐ซ๐ discussed the classification of commercial and industrial activities, considering the nature and level of risk to health, safety, and the environment, categorized as low, medium, or high. They explained how these classifications can be applied to the structure of economic activities.
The seminar was opened by His Excellency, the Vice-Minister of MCI, ๐๐ง. ๐ผ๐ช๐๐ช๐จ๐ฉ๐ค ๐ รบ๐ฃ๐๐ค๐ง ๐๐ง๐๐ฃ๐๐๐๐. The event was attended by representatives of the Ermera Municipality Authority, the Commander of the Ermera PNTL, the Women's Business Association, local NGOs, business groups, the CCI-TL, youth groups, students, and community members.
