MCI Welcomes Special Guest from Brunei Darussalam

The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Nino Pereira, accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Staff, the Director-General of Industry, the Coordinator of the Legal Support Office, the Inspector of the Inspection and Internal Audit Office, and the Deputy Advisor, proudly welcomed the Principal Representative from Brunei Darussalam, Mrs. Norlela Suhailee, Director of the Economic Development Board (DARe), who will participate in the Dili International Trade Expo 2025 (DITE) at the Dili Convention Center (CCD).
Brunei Darussalam already has four companies operating in Timor-Leste and is participating in DITE 2025 with a major business delegation, showing interest in further exploring the potential and opportunities for investment and business diversification in Timor-Leste.
The delegation expressed great satisfaction and conveyed their congratulations to Timor-Leste for its accession to the WTO and its progress towards ASEAN integration. This milestone contributes to increasing investor confidence. They also expressed readiness to explore Business to Business (B2B) and Government to Government (G2G) channels to further promote the private sector and improve the well-being of the Timorese people in the business sphere.
The DARe (Economic Development Board) is an institution that acts as a bridge between the public and private sectors in Brunei Darussalam. It is regarded as the โgatewayโ for investment, economic development, and international partnerships.
