Bilateral Meeting between MCI and Cambodia

The Minister and Vice-Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Nino Pereira and Mr. Augusto Junior Trindade, accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Staff, the Director-General of Industry, the Coordinator of the Legal Support Office, the Inspector of the Inspection and Internal Audit Office, and the Deputy Advisor, proudly welcomed the Secretary of State for Commerce, Mr. Pitch Rithi, and Head of Delegation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, who will participate in the Dili International Trade Expo 2025 at the Dili Convention Center (CCD).

This sentiment of pride was expressed by the Minister of Commerce and Industry during a press conference, following the bilateral meeting with the Cambodian delegation at Fomento, Bebora, Dili (27/08/2025).

“Taking advantage of the Dili International Trade Expo event, organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry with the presence of Cambodia, is a great opportunity for Timor-Leste, especially in the economic field.”

“On this occasion, we can also learn valuable lessons and experiences they have in economic development, as well as in the areas of Commerce and Industry, which will serve as a reference for Timor-Leste in the coming October, when our country becomes a full member of ASEAN.” — Minister Nino Pereira at the Press Conference

The bilateral meeting aimed to discuss the strengthening of essential partnerships for sustainable collective development between the two nations.
