Launch of the industrial licensing digitization system and consumer complaint book

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI), through the Directorate-General for Industry, created the Industrial Licensing Digitization System and the Consumer Complaints Book to facilitate public services and expand information on industrial licensing application activities, thus contributing to the development process of the economic sector.

The digitalization system was launched by the Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister for Tourism and Environment, Mr. Francisco Kalbuadi Lay, accompanied by the Minister and Vice Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Nino Pereira and Mr. Augusto Júnior Trindade, the Minister of Justice, Mr. Sérgio da Costa Hornai, the Secretary of State for Local Development, Mr. Mateus dos Santos Tallo,  and by the Parish Father. The Deputy Prime Minister stated in his speech that this system aims to stimulate economic transformation, create opportunities for the people of Timor-Leste and build the foundations for industrial growth.

As we all know, industrial development is a fundamental pillar of a modern economy. For Timor-Leste, where we continue the path from post-conflict recovery to sustainable development and economic diversification, the establishment of a clear and transparent industrial licensing system is timely and essential," said VPM, MCA, MTA, Mr. Francisco Kalbuadi Lay.

Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Nino Pereira considers this launch as the first system for the industry sector.

"Linked to the government's annual program in the area of industry and the digitalization system, in the era of digital transformation and the practice of good governance. With the participation of several sectors, the MCI also launched today a consumer complaints book. With the presence of this digitization system, consumers will have easy access anytime and anywhere. Faster and more transparent complaint resolution process. Ease of monitoring the status of claims. The benefits for the government include greater efficiency in complaint management, data analysis and policy planning, as well as public trust in government services," said the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Nino Pereira, during the speech.

The main objective of digitizing consumer complaints is to increase accessibility to consumers, facilitate the submission of complaints anytime and anywhere (through websites) and increase the inclusion of people in remote areas.

Create efficiency and speed that simplify the complaints handling process through automated systems, reducing the processing and resolution time of complaints.
