Participation in the 14th AEM-Canada Consultations

Their Excellencies the Minister and Vice-Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Nino Pereyra and Mr. Augusto Junior Trindade, participated in the 14th AEM-Canada Consultations in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The meeting discussed the work that has been rigorously conducted within the ASEAN-Canada economic partnership and reviewed the progress of the emerging negotiations for the ASEAN-Canada Free Trade Agreement (ACAFTA). The consultation also exchanged views on current regional and global economic developments and how to provide guidance for future ASEAN-Canada economic cooperation.

The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, and was also attended by the ASEAN Secretary-General, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, and representatives of the ASEAN member states, including Timor-Leste as an observer.
