𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐄𝐌-𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐨𝐧𝐠, 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

His Excellencies the Minister and Vice Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Nino Pereira and Mr. Augusto Junior Trindade, accompanied by the National Director of External Trade and the delegation, participated in the AEM-Hong Kong, China Consultation held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Friday, 26 September.

The meeting discussed the progress of the implementation of the ASEAN-Hong Kong, China Free Trade Agreement (AHKFTA) and the ASEAN-Hong Kong, China Investment Agreement (AHKIA). The consultation also anticipated the early signing of the First Protocol to Amend the AHKIA.

The meeting further congratulated the prior extension of the AHKFTA Economic and Technical Cooperation (ECOTECH) Program for the period 2025–2029, to continue strengthening integration and economic collaboration among all AHKFTA Parties.

The consultation was chaired by Malaysia’s Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, and was also attended by the ASEAN Secretary-General, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, along with representatives of ASEAN Member States, including Timor-Leste as an observer.
