Government and National Parliament, through Commission A, discuss the Proposed Law on the Code of Recovery and Insolvency

His Excellency the Vice-Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Augusto Júnior Trindade, representing the IX Constitutional Government, continued to participate in the specialized discussion on Proposed Law No. 13/VI (2nd) regarding the Code of Recovery and Insolvency, at the Mukit Aisirimou Hall, Aileu Municipality.
The principal objective of the Proposed Law on the Code of Recovery and Insolvency is to establish a clear and functional legal framework to regulate the financial crisis situations of companies and individuals, ensuring a balanced response between the protection of creditors' rights and the possibility of recovery for viable debtors.
This Proposed Law contains more than two hundred articles, and during the discussion, one hundred and sixty-odd articles have already been passed. The discussion will continue on the following days until it is finalized.
The specialized discussion is chaired by the President of Commission A, which handles Constitutional Affairs and Justice, Member of Parliament, Mr. Patrosino Fernandes, and includes participation from members of Commission A and the Central Bank of Timor-Leste.
Meanwhile, according to the calendar of the National Parliament's Commission A, the specialized discussion will continue for three days this week, and three days every week, from Wednesday to Friday, to continue to assess and approve the articles that have not yet been concluded.
