Inauguration of the New Building of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Manufahi Municipality

The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Nino Pereira, held the symbolic inauguration of the new MCI building in Manufahi Municipality this Friday (12/12/25).

The main objective of constructing the new MCI building, the Decentralized Service Unit (USD), is to provide better facilities and working conditions for the civil servants assigned to the municipalities.

In his speech, the Minister of Commerce and Industry clarified that the new building will provide good conditions for civil servants to work efficiently and enhance the institutional image of the MCI at the municipal level.

The new building will help implement commerce and industry programs in Manufahi and will also support micro, medium, and small enterprises (MSME) in increasing local production. The new building received a blessing from the Parish Priest of Manufahi, Fr. Albino Marques.

Meanwhile, the new buildings of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Decentralized Service Unit (USD), are established in four Municipalities: Manufahi, Covalima, Ermera, and Manatuto, but the inauguration was focused on Manufahi Municipality.

Attendees at the ceremony included the PAM Representative of Manufahi Municipality, the PNTL Commander of Manufahi Municipality, representatives from line ministries, the Director-General of Industry, the Director of Human Resources, and the USD Directors from Manufahi, Covalima, Ermera, and Manatuto Municipalities, including the civil servants.
