YEES for youth employment and entrepreneurship

The Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship skills (YEES) project is financed by the Government of Korea, the Government of Timor-Leste and UNDP from 2022 to 2027. The total funding for this project is USD 8,120,947.00, consisting of KOICA; USD 5,998,176.67, MCI; 1,632,770.00 and UNDP; 490,00.00.

The purpose of this project is to train and provide employment to youth and young entrepreneurs in Timor-Leste.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI) and the United National for Development Program (UNDP) are the executive advisors to the YEES project, and it is implemented together with MCI, MJDAC and SEFOPE.

The Project Board Meeting proposed and approved a fund of USD ; 1,606,095.04 to finance the YEES project activities in 2024. The YEES project is also one of the initiatives to empower small and medium enterprises to contribute to national economic diversity.

The meeting was chaired by Minister of Commerce and Industry H.M. Sr. Filipus Nino Pereira and attended by members of the government, KOICA, UNDP and BNCTL.
