MCI Holds Audience with Commissions C and D in the National Parliament

Their Excellencies the Minister and Vice-Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Nino Pereira and Mr. Augusto Junior Trindade, accompanied by their senior staff, held an audience today, Monday, with Commission C (which handles Public Finance matters) and Commission D (which handles Economic and Development matters) in the National Parliament plenary room.
The audience was led by the Vice-President of Commission D, Member of Parliament Manuel Henrique, and the President of Commission C, Member of Parliament Cedelizia Faria dos Santos, in the National Parliament plenary room.
During the audience, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Nino Pereira, presented the Annual Action Plan for 2026 to the Commissions. He outlined the main objectives for the coming year: uniting in one Vision, one Plan, and one Action for Commercial and Industrial Development. The key focus will be on priorities such as supporting the development of Industrial Groups, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), creating industrial zones, and supporting the development of strategic industries. Furthermore, the plan includes supporting the facilitation of commercial activities, supporting the private sector, creating market zones, and promoting the marketing of potential products for the market, as well as cooperation with international partners and creating legislation for commercial and industrial development. The overall goal is to create jobs and local income, thereby contributing to the nation's economic growth.
Regarding the Allocation Ceiling of the 2026 General State Budget (OJE), the MCI was allocated a Fiscal Ceiling/Budget amount of $8,384,463.00. The breakdown of this figure is as follows: Salaries and Wages: $3,559,616.00; Goods and Services: $4,554,847.00; Minor Capital: $60,000.00; Development Capital: $210,000.00. This amount was distributed by the Ministry of Finance (MdF). The Ministry of Commerce and Industry allocates this budget to fund 2 Programs, 10 Subprograms, and 39 Activities that are priorities in the trade and industry sectors, as well as institutional development operations to support the needs of the ministerial machinery.
