PUBLIC TRANSFER AGREEMENT SIGNING CEREMONY BETWEEN KNI V BENEFICIARY COMPANIES AND THE MCI

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI), together with the KNI V Beneficiary Companies, signed a public transfer agreement with the theme "Promoting Economic Diversification and Innovation to Empower and Ensure Sustainability through Support for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises" at the MCI Hall in Mandarin, Dili.
This program is a partnership between the government, through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) and KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency), through the project, "Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Skills (YEES Project)".
The objective of signing this agreement is to provide opportunities and uplift youth to explore their potential in the business sector, in order to contribute to the economic growth of Timor-Leste, and to increase the number of young entrepreneurs in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise sectors.
The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Nino Pereira, in his speech, stated that the innovative business competition aims to give rise to and promote new entrepreneurs so they can stand strong and create jobs for themselves and for others, to achieve sustainable development.
"This program is very important for us, to promote our private sectors, especially micro, small, and medium enterprises, so they can be strong and further consolidate sustainable economic growth in terms of economic diversification and job creation, diversifying our businesses, diversifying our products, starting from KNI I up to this year, KNI V. We have already produced new entrepreneurs and young entrepreneurs, which creates great pride for all the efforts that you have made, through your own efforts." - Said the MCI Minister.
In the same place, the National Anti-Corruption Commissioner (CAC), Mr. Rui Pereira dos Santos, requested that the entrepreneurs who received the grant execute the money properly and that they must provide a report. "We are all under the law, and if we execute the money differently from the grant's plan, we will have to answer to the CAC."
"The Ministry has the responsibility to supervise the entrepreneurs, which is why this innovative activity conducts a selection to promote transparency and involve everyone." - Said the Director-General of Finance (MF), Ms. Regina de Jesus de Sousa.
The Ceremony was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Nino Pereira, the UNDP representative, the CAC Commissioner, Mr. Rui Pereira dos Santos, the Director-General of Finance (MF), Ms. Regina de Jesus de Sousa, and other Heads of Structure.
