Aileu, July 9, 2025

His Excellency, the Vice Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Augusto Jรบnior Trindade, representing the Government, continued to debate with the deputies of Committee A, on issues of Constitution and Justice, in the specialty phase of Bill No. 13/VI (2a) on the Recovery and Insolvency Code, in total Article 225, in the Mukit Asairimou Hall, in the municipality of Aileu.

His Excellency, the Vice Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Augusto Jรบnior Trindade, stated that this discussion is taking place for the seventh time since last month and that today he continues to vote on other articles that are not yet concluded.

"Today, we continue to discuss Bill No. 13/VI (2a), which was discussed last month and had some articles approved, and there are still some articles that need to be discussed before approval, totaling 225 articles," said the VMCI.

The deputy minister also explained that this law is conditional on the real situation of the country, since many companies, when they go bankrupt, affect employers, who have to lose their jobs and rights when the company faces this situation.

The debate was chaired by the President of Commission A, Mr. Patrocino Fernandes do Reis, and was attended by members of Commission A, representatives of the Central Bank of Timor-Leste (BCTL), representatives of the justice sector, international and national advisors, including technicians from the National Parliament.

Meanwhile, the debate for this specialty will take place for three days in the Mukit Hall, in the Municipality of Aileu, and it is expected to continue next month to finalize the articles that are not yet completed
