From 8 to 17 July 2025, the Delegation of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste participated in the General Assemblies of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) held at the WIPO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, led by the H.E. ambassador and Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva Mr. Antรณnio da Conceiรงรฃo and senior officials from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI), Coordinator of GCPR Mr. Elias de Jesus Fatima and General director of Industry Mr. Martins Magno, and accompany by Senior Counsellor of permanent mission in Geneve Mr. Nuno Alvares Moniz Marques Alves.

successfully concluded its participation in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) General Assemblies. This marks a significant step forward in Timor-Lesteโ€™s journey to prepare for the establishment its first National Intellectual Property (IP) Office. The country's vision is to create a modern, efficient, and inclusive IP system that supports national innovation, cultural preservation, and sustainable economic development.

Throughout the mission, the delegation engaged in several high-level and technical meetings with WIPO leadership, Lusophone partners, and regional institutions. These engagements focused on legislative readiness, capacity building, digital infrastructure, and institutional governance for IP systems in least-developed countries.
