Business Forum: Opportunities for Commercial Cooperation between Indonesia and Timor-Leste
Jakarta, July 11, 2025 โ The Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Nino Pereira, participated in the opening of the business forum between Indonesia and Timor-Leste on opportunities for commercial cooperation. The forum was opened by the Vice-Minister of Trade, Ms. Dyah Roro Esti, at the Ministry of Trade Office in Jakarta, Indonesia (Friday, July 11, 2025).
The forum is part of a series of visits by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Nino Pereira, to the Ministry of Trade in Jakarta, Indonesia.
On this occasion, the Vice-Minister of Trade, Ms. Roro, stated that Timor-Leste is not only a destination for exports but also a strategic partner for Indonesia in the ASEAN region. Trade between Indonesia and Timor-Leste has shown a growth trend over the past five years, dominated by non-oil and gas exports.
The business forum discussed opportunities for commercial cooperation between Indonesia and Timor-Leste to strengthen economic ties and explore potential collaborations in various sectors, including trade, investment, and the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
